Job Title: Production Assistant

Job Description

  • Our client is seeking an experienced Production Assistant who would be responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process of hair care products, such as shampoos, conditioners, oils, and treatments.
  • The role ensures production efficiency, quality standards, and compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
  • The assistant will lead the production team, ensure smooth operations, and work collaboratively with other departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement production schedules based on demand forecasts and sales projections, ensuring customer orders are met while minimizing lead times.
  • Coordinate with the procurement team to maintain optimal stock levels of raw materials, ensuring smooth production processes.
  • Manage and lead the production team, providing training and motivation while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee daily production operations, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and maintaining high-quality standards across all processes.
  • Monitor and ensure that all hair care products meet company and regulatory quality standards throughout the production cycle.
  • Identify and implement strategies to improve production efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Apply lean manufacturing techniques to enhance process performance, minimize downtime, and increase overall production output.
  • Track and manage production costs, labor, and material usage to ensure the department operates within budget constraints.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and finished products to avoid stockouts or overproduction, ensuring a balance between supply and demand.
  • Maintain proper documentation and reporting for audits, inspections, and certifications, while staying updated on industry regulations affecting hair care production.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of production machinery, ensuring minimal downtime and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure all equipment operates in accordance with safety standards, and train staff on safety protocols to ensure compliance with workplace safety regulations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Production Management, Industrial Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
  • 3 years of experience in production management, preferably within the cosmetics, personal care, or hair care industry.
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes for liquid, cream, and gel-based hair care products.
  • Experience with regulatory standards such as FDA, GMP, or ISO in cosmetic or personal care production.
  • Excellent leadership, team management, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in production management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with product development cycles and working with R&D teams.
  • Knowledge of supply chain management and materials planning in the beauty industry.

Working Conditions:

  • Fast-paced production environment with occasional extended hours during high-demand periods.
  • Flexibility to address production issues outside of regular working hours if necessary.

Salary
N100,000 – N150,000 / month.
